Acceptable Use Policy

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It exists because Spotreach works with information about real businesses, drawn from reviews written by real people. Using it well means using it for selling a genuine product to a business that has the problem that product solves.

Use Spotreach for

  • Finding businesses that may need what you sell, and reading the public evidence behind each result.
  • Contacting those businesses about your product, lawfully and in a way you would be comfortable explaining to them.
  • Internal sales research, planning and prioritisation inside your own business.

Outreach rules

When you contact a business you found through Spotreach you must:

  • comply with the marketing, e-privacy, telemarketing and anti-spam laws of your country and of the recipient's, including any consent, registration (such as İYS in Türkiye) or do-not-call requirements;
  • identify yourself and your business truthfully, and give a working way to opt out;
  • stop contacting a business, and the people in it, once they ask you to;
  • keep your volume proportionate: one-to-one, relevant messages, not bulk campaigns loaded from exported leads.

You may not

  • Resell or share leads. Do not sell, license, publish, syndicate or give delivered leads, evidence or exports to anyone outside your business, or use them to build or enrich a database, list or product offered to others.
  • Identify reviewers. Do not try to find out, contact or profile the people who wrote the reviews behind a signal. Spotreach never stores their identity and you may not reconstruct it.
  • Make claims about a business. Do not publish a result, or tell the business or anyone else, that Spotreach "rated", "flagged" or "found problems with" it. A signal is an automated judgement, not a finding of fact. Do not use results to shame, threaten, pressure or disparage a business, or to post reviews or comments about it.
  • Decide things about individuals. Do not use the service or its results as a factor in decisions about a person's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, tenancy or any similar purpose. Spotreach is not a consumer reporting agency and its results are not consumer reports under the US Fair Credit Reporting Act or any similar law.
  • Target consumers or sensitive data. Do not use the service to find or contact private individuals rather than businesses, or to infer anyone's health, religion, political opinions, sexual life, ethnic origin or other special category of data.
  • Misrepresent the source. Do not suggest that you are affiliated with, or that your message is endorsed by, Google, Apple, the business's customers or any review platform.
  • Harass or deceive. Do not use results for harassment, stalking, fraud, phishing, extortion, or misleading or unfair commercial practices.
  • Misuse the service itself. Do not share your account key outside your business, open more than one trial, scrape or automatically extract the panel, get around quota or rate limits, probe or test its security without our written permission, or interfere with its operation.
  • Sell prohibited products. Do not describe, or use Spotreach to sell, products or services that are illegal where they are offered, or that we tell you fall outside what we support.

What happens if this policy is broken

We may refuse or remove a signal profile, pause scans, suspend or close the account, and where the law requires it or a person's safety is at risk, report the matter to the authorities. Section 15 of the Terms of Service sets out what happens to fees in that case.

Reporting misuse
